Throughout the course of my wedding photography journey, I have came across couples from all walks of life. It is no exaggeration to say that many unforgettable memories have been formed after having met them and sharing their most intimate moments on their biggest days of their lives, and for that I am grateful. You might remember Colin and Charlene from an earlier engagement post, where we have a little escapade in a rustic forest. Having spent a day with them made it really comfortable to capture the numerous moments on the wedding day, as they were super easy-going and allowed Tommy and I fully to let our creative juices flow.
Their morning was not the typical kind of hectic Chinese customary though – while we had the usual gatecrash games and tea ceremony, they decided to dispense with the traveling in between the bride’s and groom’s houses. Instead, they decided to give their bridal party a breakfast treat at Dutch Colony cafe, which was just a stone’s throw away from their place. Needless to say, our stomachs were well taken care of!
Their dinner was an unforgettable experience as well, held at Mandarin Oriental hotel, where Charlene had a huge part in brainstorming the dinner reception area. They were an extremely hands-on couple, even designing their own macaron wedding cake, which I totally love it for the meaningful phrase perched on top of it – ‘You’re my greatest adventure’.
Sometimes I cannot believe how lucky we can get when such couples hire us, and for us it is such a huge honour to be able to document such an eventful day. Thank you so so much, Colin and Charlene, for believing in us, and for giving us this opportunity to witness something special. All the best for the next chapter in your lives!
