Sometimes my couples share their stories of how they met with me. This is the one that struck a chord deepest within my heart – the remarkable story of Karen and Áre.
Karen is from the little red dot which we are residing on, this tropical, humid metropolis of Singapore, and Áre, well, he is from Norway, a country far north and more known to us for their aurora lights. They met years ago, when he first set his sights on her while queueing for the customs at an airport in Thailand. They parted, and then he came to our island, where he had a single purpose in mind – to search for her in where she had worked for.
He found her eventually, and they were inspired by his grandparents, who, like them, endured long distances between them, longer than their hearts would want. But endure they did, and the rest as they say, is history.
Thank you Karen and Áre for having me there as your photographer on your wedding day, and for making my heart full.
